Bahrain deports 8 activists for falsifying visa applications

The General Directorate of Immigration confirmed that six moreactivistswith American citizenship have been deported for applying for tourist visas under false pretences, IAA in a statement said.

Kate Raphael Bender, Kristin Razowsky, Patricia Wieland, Michael Anthony Lopercio, Brian David Terrell and Linda Sartor all arrived in Bahrain over the past week, obtaining tourist visas upon arrival at the airport. They were participating in illegal demonstrations.

The group were taken to Hoora Police Station for questioning and agreed to leave the country without further legal procedures.

On 11 Février, Huwaida Arraf and Radhika Sainath, two of the organizers of the group, were detained and deported.

People coming to visit Bahrain need to understand that lying on immigration documents is against the law and they will face the consequences of their actions,” an official for the Directorate of Immigration, dit.
