Rasheed Mohammed Al Maraj, Governor Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) lauded the efforts undertaken by the ABG to develop the Islamic finance industry and taking it to the different markets across the world.
Al Maraj also congratulated the ABG for its continuing to be in new markets in different countries of the world, praising the performance of the group and continued to achieve good and positive results in recent years despite exceptional circumstances experienced by the Islamic finance and banking industry globally.
Governor remarks came as he received Adnan Ahmed Yousif, member of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Al Baraka Islamic, along with a number of representatives in the executive management of the group’s branches in many countries on the occasion of the tenth meeting of the Group’s strategic pond held in Bahrain.
Governor also congratulated Al Baraka Banking Group for winning the first prize in the application of governance from the Institute of Corporate Governance.
Al Maraj added that this award was the result of the valuable efforts made by the Group in the development of Islamic banking.
The meeting was attended by Khalid Hamad, Executive Director, Banking Supervision at CBB and Hussein Sharaf Director of Islamic Financial Institutions Supervision at the Central Bank.
