Batelco, will host a superb week long Formula One event “F1 FanZone” free of charge for the entertainment of residents of the Kingdom from March 7th to 13th.
F1 FanZone in conjunction with Formula One Administration (FOA) has created the Official LIVE viewing event for Formula One fans.
The week long international style festival, which is a first for Bahrain, is being held at the Amwaj Islands Marina and promises a great day out for all the family. Batelco is committed to creating an occasion for all ages and nationalities to enjoy an urban, outdoor festival with an assortment of activities and events that celebrate motorsport.
During the week visitors will have the opportunity to try out formula one race car simulators, take part in the Pit Stop Challenge or have their photo taken on the Winners Podium. A special feature, designed especially for young children, is the F1 Kids Zone which includes activities such as a kids driving school. Additionally, competitions will be held every hour giving visitors the chance to win a selection of fantastic prizes.
Throughout the week, a variety of live bands and performers will be entertaining the crowds and as a special added bonus, official F1™ driver autograph sessions will take place. Visitors will also be presented with the opportunity to purchase official team merchandise at retail kiosks located throughout the site.
One of the highlights of the week and rounding off the event in great style is live coverage of all the action from the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix which will be broadcast LIVE on the world’s largest and most advanced LED digital screens, complete with Dolby surround sound. The practice sessions and qualifying rounds will also be featured on the giant screens at the Amwaj Marina site.
F1 FanZone Co-Founder Carlo Boutagy, who recently travelled to Bahrain to meet Batelco officials said that F1 FanZone was created to offer an alternative F1 experience by celebrating the Formula One lifestyle through fun activities and engaging entertainment.
“We recognised a need to make F1 more accessible to a wider range of people and not limit the live action and atmosphere to those who can afford to attend the actual Formula One events,” he said.
Batelco Group General Manager Media Relations Ahmed Al Janahi said that Batelco was proud and delighted to be the event sponsor for the Batelco F1 FanZone Bahrain and have the opportunity to deliver such a fantastic week of fun activity free of charge for residents of the Kingdom and visitors alike.
“By delivering the excitement of the pit lane, the exclusivity of the paddock, the roar of the engines and the opportunity to meet the drivers, F1 FanZone™ promises to be the most unique event ever to be held in Bahrain.”
