Bahrain Financial Harbour (BFH), the Kingdom’s $3 billion financial community landmark, announces the inauguration of its prestigious Fine Art Gallery on Thursday January 27th, 2011.
Befitting its status, the 275 sqm BFH Fine Art Gallery opens its doors to the public for the first time ever with a Grand Exhibition in collaboration with the globally renowned Opera Gallery. The exhibition will showcase contemporary and significant works from famous Master artists including, Fernando Botero, Picasso, Diego Masi , as well as bronze sculptures of Salvador Dali.
Located at the West Atrium of the Harbour Towers, the Fine Art Gallery introduces a unique platform for exhibiting high-profile national and international modern and contemporary art in the kingdom. The Fine Art Gallery aims to encourage local artists and promote the development of corporate collections and support corporate sponsorship of the arts.
“Our new highlight will elevate Bahrain into the art scene on an international scale and this can best be portrayed with our first exhibition in collaboration with the internationally famous Opera Gallery,” said Dr. Omar Al Mardi, Managing Director of BFH.
Opera Gallery was founded in 1994 by Gilles Dyan as a platform for international modern and contemporary art works and encompasses a leading network of 11 galleries located in the world’s art capitals like Paris, London, New York, Venice, Singapore and Dubai.
“The introduction of BFH’s Fine Art Gallery will add a unique value to the cultural lifestyle of our community. BFH is proud to support and be associated with art galleries like Opera Gallery that will help raise the profile of cultures and arts in the kingdom as well as provide arts and education opportunities,” added Dr. Omar Al Mardi.
The Gallery is elegantly designed and has a unique position as the transparent glass allow panoramic views of the old city of Manama on one side, and the sea and magnificent views of the Bahrain Financial Harbour on the other; amalgamating an artistic vision of Bahrain’s rich cultures and futuristic progress.
The Opera gallery exhibition will be open for an exclusive viewing for guests by invitation only on January 27th 2011 and will be open to the public from January 28th to 2rd February, 2011.
