Dr Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza, Minister of Oil and Gas and Chairman of the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) delivered a lecture on wise use power in the public sector and how the new managers in the public sector can optimize the output.
Organised by the Institute of Public Administration (IPA) Bahrain the lecture was held at the premises of the NOGA and attended by 25 participants from the Civil Service Bureau, the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs, Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Culture, Survey and Land Registration Bureau, the Ministry of Social Development, the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, the Electricity and Water Authority and the Ministry of the Interior as well as staff member of the Kuwait Finance House and Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC).
The lecture focused on the 7 axes Basic Learning Subject i.e. definition of leadership, a leadership role in the success of the institution, and the challenges facing the leadership, and how to deal with these challenges, the definition of power, type and style of leadership as well as judicious use of power.
He also stressed the importance of good training for new managers and acquaint them with the art of modern management methods to increase the scientific and cultural level of the new managers and increase their skills and competencies of leadership and management.
Dr Mirza also praised the IPA initiatives which seeks to driving to work in the government sector through programmes that are prepared and designed to enable new managers to carry out the tasks entrusted to them, where the fall of these programmes and plans within the strategy of good government to develop future leaders and improve productivity in the public sector and modernization of the administrative organs, and the preparation of qualified Bahraini skills, and change the style of thinking and government performance in order to serve the Bahraini community, and the achievement of the objectives of the economic vision of the Kingdom of 2030 with development and human resource development.
Dr. Raed Mohammed Bin Shams Director General of the IPA thanked and appreciated for Dr Mirza for taking time for the lecture and for his continuous cooperation. The target of these IPA promgrammes is to develop the capacity of new managers and rehabilitation to enable them to perform their work efficiently high in their new positions.
