Standard Chartered Bank Bahrain, the oldest bank in the Kingdom, announced the appointment of Aida Kalla as the Head of Origination and Client Coverage for Bahrain. She will also take regional responsibility for the bank’s Origination and Client Coverage business in Oman, Jordan and Lebanon. Aida was previously a Managing Director within the Strategic Client Coverage Group with Standard Chartered in Dubai. Aida will report to David Law, Regional Head of Wholesale Banking Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan and to Jonathan Morris, Chief Executive Officer, Bahrain.

Prior to joining Standard Chartered Bank Dubai, Aida has held senior management positions in product as well as coverage groups at major American and European Financial Institutions in New York and the Middle East. She has more than 25 years financial services experience in organisations such as BNP Paribas, ABN Amro, Bank of New York, and Moody’s.
