The board of directors of Bahrain Bourse held its first meeting on Sunday, marking the new era for the Kingdom’s stock exchange to work as an independent entity.
The meeting was held following the issuance of the resolution with regard to formation of the board that was issued by Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander and Chairman of the Economic Development Board.
At the outset of the meeting, the board congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander for the occasion of the 10th anniversary of voting on the National Action Charter, in which His Majesty has set the principal features of our beloved country in all different areas in order to achieve the needs and aspirations of the faithful Bahraini citizens.
The bourse’s new board includes Yusif Abdulla Humood, Afnan Al Zayani, Yasser Ebrahim Humaidan, Nabeel Khalid Kanoo, Rana Ebrahim Faqihi, Mohammed Ahmed Hassan, Nada Alawi Shubbar and Marwan Khaled Tabbara. The duration of the Board’s membership is three years as of the date of the issuance of the resolution.
The Board thanked Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander for his trust in appointing the Board of Directors of the Bourse, promising His Highness to put all needed efforts to continue developing the Bourse and enhance its role in the economic development process that the Kingdom is witnessing, as well as enhance its competitiveness to attract and maintain investments.
The board of directors also thanked the chairman and the previous board members of the bourse for all their efforts and achievements during their membership in the board, wishing them further success.
According to the Articles of Association of the Bourse, the board members elected Yusif Abdulla Humood as the Chairman of the board and Afnan Rashid Al Zayani as deputy chairman. The executive and auditing committees were also appointed.
