Following the continuing protests with
hundreds of camped in families seem in a defiant mood at the Pearl Roundabout on
11th day, Bahrain forced to postpone yet another global event Cisco
Live 2011.
Earlier, Bahrain withdraws from the Formula One opener set for March
13th causing nervousness among the tourists, businesses and on the top
of it the International Rating Agencies continue either downgrading
the ratings of banks or placing them on CreditWatch negative.
The losses from the unfolding events in Bahrain and the greater MENA
region are likely to affect the economy of Bahrain in negative way
especially when the country showed a better resilience to the economic
meltdown.
Shaikh Ahmed Bin Atteyatallah Al Khalifa, Minister of Cabinet Affairs,
Minister Responsible for the Telecommunications Sector announced on
Thursday that Cisco Live! 2011 Bahrain, which was under the patronage
of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince,
postponed. The event scheduled to take place in the Kingdom Of Bahrain
from the 10th to 13 April 2011, for the second time in Bahrain, at the
Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir.
Cisco Live! 2011 Bahrain is collaboration between Cisco and the
government of Bahrain, and the Kingdom was chosen as one of the most
favorable locations to organize this regional conference, that runs
annually in a number of worldwide capitals in the field of ICT. Last
year’s event attracted around 4,000 participants, onsite and online,
ranging from executives to industry specialists associated with the
ICT community.
