His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s address to the nation in which HM affirmed that the reform march in the Kingdom was continuous and instructed the Parliament to convene and study the current situation was praised by the Cabinet.
During its regular weekly meeting, chaired by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Cabinet lauded HM King Hamad’s directives to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, to run a national dialogue involving all parties and social groups.
The Cabinet also hailed HRH Crown Prince’s initiative which has opened up new appeasement horizons, expressing confidence in HRH Prince Salman’s ability to assume this national responsibility.
In this context, the Cabinet called on all parties to put the national interests above anything else and join hands in order to safeguard the country’s security and stability and protect its economic achievements and interests and make sure that they are not affected.
“The critical situation the kingdom is currently witnessing requires us to adhere to our national unity, which has always been a distinctive feature of the Bahraini society throughout history, and urges us to make any differences between our views a blessing, not a curse,” said the Cabinet, affirming that “co-existence is a religious must and a national necessity, and should, by no means, lead us to discord.”
The Cabinet also pointed out that appeasement, rationalism, protection of national interests and peaceful means of expression are the basic tools for saving the nation and ward off any sedition repercussions.
“No one would accept the division of the united and cohesive Bahraini people,” the Cabinet affirmed.
It also noted that the government, led by HRH Premier, has spared no effort to meet the aspirations of the Bahraini citizens using the available resources.
In this regard, the ministers expressed their deep sorrow over the recent regretful incidents that happened in the kingdom over the past days and killed or injured dear Bahraini citizens, offering their sincere condolences to the families of the victims, praying Allah Almighty to rest the souls of those who died in eternal peace and grant the wounded quick recovery.
The cabinet also appreciated highly the GCC supportive stances towards Bahrain and rejection of external interference in its internal affairs.
During the same meeting, the Cabinet reviewed and discussed the Ministerial Committee for Services and Infrastructure’s recommendations concerning the Health Ministry’s memo on establishing a strategic medicines store that can provide the kingdom with them during emergency situations.
Then, the Cabinet was briefed by the State Minister for Foreign Affairs on the founding principles of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) and referred its by-law to the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs.
