His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, said that the comprehensive national dialogue, for which he was assigned by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, will be a real turning point in the history of political action in Bahrain.
HRH expressed these views during a meeting at Riffa Palace on Friday with Jeffrey Feltman, the US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, which was attended by Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
Feltman reiterated the US support for the national dialogue wishing it success and commending the steps taken to prepare for it. He also expressed hope that a wide spectrum of the Bahraini society would take part.
HRH Prince Salman expressed confidence in Bahrain’s ability to make the dialogue a success thanks to everyone’s love for this country and keenness to maintain its stability, interests and achievements. He asserted that Bahrain is keen to clear all causes of division and overcome the current situation. “Bahrain has always been known for its diversity and the spirit of co-existence in one society,” he said.
Feltman reaffirmed that Bahrain is an important ally and friend of the USA lauding the kingdom’s commitment to regional security and stability.
