Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, wife of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Supreme Council for Women Chairwoman, on Wednesday stressed the importance of commitment to women’s inalienable rights, as stipulated in the National Action Charter and the Constitution.
She pointed out the SCW’s positive response to the initiative of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander to engage in a multi-party national dialogue.
“The SCW had already submitted proposals promoting Bahraini women’s needs and role as an essential partner in development and cornerstone of social, political and economic momentum”, she said, expressing the hope that women would play a pivotal role in the national dialogue
She was speaking as she chaired the 1st meeting of the 4th SCW session. She hailed the remarkable response of women NGOS through the consultative meetings and the constructive proposals and programmes put forth as part of efforts to restore calm, preserve national unity and foster the concept of citizenship for Bahrain to emerge from the current situation stronger.
