Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Atiya on Sunday reiterated the GCC countries’ full solidarity with Bahrain’s leadership and people in line with the principle of common destiny linking the member states, adding that safeguarding security and stability in one country is a collective responsibility.
Al Atiya called upon all parties to respond positively to the call for dialogue initiated by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander as soon as possible in order to reach solutions that solidify national cohesion and pave the way for carrying on the political and economic development march under the pioneering comprehensive Reform Project anchored by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
He also expressed his strong rejection of any foreign interference in the Kingdom’s internal affairs, asserting that any acts aiming to destabilise the Kingdom and sow dissension between its citizens represent a dangerous encroachment on the whole GCC security and stability.
