The registration deadline for the Bahrain eContent Award 2011 has been extended to Tuesday, 8th, March, 2011. The earlier deadline for the submission of the applications was February 28th 2011. “The organizing committee received many requests from participants to extend the registration period in order to give them ample time to add in the required final touches for their work and projects,” the organizers in a statement said.
The Chairman of the Organizing Committee for Bahrain eContent Award 2011, Nawaf Abdulrahman, said that the Committee’s response to these requests, stems from its commitment to allow the largest number of Bahraini projects to participate in this award, due to its importance at the Arab regional and international levels.
He stressed, although it’s too early to judge the participating projects there is a remarkable growth in number, for some categories, such as the eScience and eInclusion. “This is simply an indication for the expansion of the Bahraini electronic production which has entered new grounds.”
Abdulrahman said that organizational preparations were completed in terms of the arrangements of the Grand Juries, to agree with them on the standards used in judging the competing participations.
“Other technical aspects including required software and communications technology were also finalized in order to prepare the Kingdom of Bahrain to complete the elements of compliance with internationally established standards for the success of this Award.”
He urged the institutions and individuals who were involved with communication and information technologies to expedite registration for their participation in the Award before deadline, in order for their work to reflect the level of industrial development in the field of technical communication and information enjoyed by the Bahraini market.
“The Kingdom of Bahrain is the first Arab country to host this international event, since Bahrain is one of the leading countries worldwide, which has established a national committee for the Award, to judge the local competing works.”
Along the lines of perpetrations a workshop was held in preparation of public and private sectors to the Bahrain eContent Award 2011 and the World Summit Award through the presentation of successful experiences in the past years as well as the mechanism for overcoming the challenges.
