The Kingdom of Bahrain represented by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce will celebrate with the Development, Mining and National Standardization organizations (IDMNS) the Arab Standard Day the anniversary on the 25th of March which coincides with the establishment Metrology and Standardization Arab Organization establishment back in 1968.
In a press release on the occasion of the Arab Standard Day, IDMNS opted “Products Safety and Quality; Protects Consumers and Supports Exports” as this year’s motto, to improve the quality and safety of Arab products to consumers, as well as increasing their competitiveness in domestic and international market.
Minister of Industry and Commerce Dr. Hassan Abdullah Fakhro declared that this year’s motto confirms the achievement of technical requirements and standards. The certificates given to the industrial, production and services facilities proves the efficiency and effectiveness of the management system on various areas of quality, environment, food care, or information security, in consistent with the specified International standards. This enables enterprises to engage in regional and international competition and increases market share.
Dr. Fakhro added that IDMNS developed a number of infrastructure elements through adoption of 8828 Arab, as well as several International standards for goods and services, within the framework of quality development. He pointed out his contentment with local levels of more than 4000 Bahraini standards specifications on different goods and services.
