His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Royal Decree 18/2011on the declaration of a three-month State of National Safety was praised by the cabinet during its regular weekly meeting, chaired by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
The Cabinet welcomed delegating the Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa to take the necessary measures in order to ensure the security of the nation and the citizens, and hailed what has been done so far in this regard, attributing the success of those measures to the efficiency and professionalism of the security forces and the cooperation of the citizens and residents.
The Cabinet also reassured citizens and residents that the on-going procedures are necessary and that checkpoints aim to ensure their safety and security.
The Cabinet also expressed regret over the negative response of some political sides and associations towards the good will initiatives launched by the wise leadership over the past weeks for the sake of restoring normal life, calling upon all parties to assume their national responsibilities and join ranks in order to promote peace and stability nationwide.
The ministers also praised the patriotic stances voiced by national figures and loyal citizens who reiterated their loyalty to the nation and allegiance to the wise leadership.
They also lauded public and private sector’s workers’ keenness to carry out their duties during the crisis for the sake of keeping the national economy on track, hailing the role played by expat workers in this regard.
The Cabinet also lauded the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdulla bin Abdulaziz Al Saud’s directives to deploy troops from the Joint Peninsula Shield to help maintain security and stability in the kingdom, paying tribute to the GCC leaders for their historic supportive stances towards the kingdom and keenness to send troops, in line with the Joint Defence Agreement signed between the GCC nations.
The cabinet also strongly denounced the attempts made some sides to interfere into the kingdom’s internal affairs, asserting that those moves will do nothing but “destroy bridges of trust”.
After that, HRH Premier instructed the ministers to speed up the execution of service projects, requesting them to submit monthly reports on them in order to make sure they are carried out in due time.
HRH Premier also gave directives to deal positively with media establishments and update them on the current situation in the Kingdom’s transparently so as to avert any attempts to distort reality, extending his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Information Affairs Authority (IAA)’s staff and affiliates for the tremendous efforts they exert in the service of their beloved nation.
Then, the ministers’ expressed Bahrain’s solidarity with Japan following the devastating earthquake and Tsunami that hit it recently, reiterating the kingdom’s keenness to provide humanitarian aid for the friendly Japanese people.
After that, the Cabinet reviewed two memos on airspace services signed between Bahrain and both Italy and Chile and tasked the concerned sides to take the necessary procedures.
