Industry and Commerce Minister Dr Hassan Fakhro inspected Manama Central market, Ramez in Manama, Gold Souq, in addition Carrefour at Bahrain City Centre, where he was briefed on the latest development and markets movement.
Through minister presence in Manama Central Market, Ibrahim Al Ameer confirmed the availability of various types of required vegetables and fruits. And some of the vegetables and fruits achieved drop in prices such as Indian onions which has fallen by almost 50%, as well as bananas.
Dr. Fakhro also visited Ramez, where official affirmed prices stability of most goods and basic foodstuffs, and the market continues to do promotions on many consumer goods especially those in high demand especially rice, oil and powdered milk.
As for meat, the minister was briefed on the large quantities offered by Bahrain Livestock Company. Butchers thanks and appreciates the Minister and the Minister on such visit to identify issues first hand.
The Minister also visits Carrefour Hypermarket, where he was briefed on large promotional offers, which includes many of the food commodities and consumers goods. Carrefour General Manager Mr. Joe Younis stressed the availability of all goods.
With his interest to follow up market issues in different terms of reference, Dr. Fakhro Visited Gold Souq in Manama, where he met President of Gold and jewelry Committee of BCCI Muhammad Sajid Sheikh, where he briefed the minister on the latest developments of market conditions, confirming the movement is back to normal by 80%. He also touched on some of the things that require ministry follow up and coordination with other government agencies.
