Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa took part on Thursday in the 118th GCC Foreign Ministers’ meeting which brought under the spotlight key issues on its agenda. The ministerial council has decided to launch the GCC development programme which will allocate $20 billion over ten years to be distributed equally between Bahrain and Oman for development projects.
The decision is in line with the directives of the GCC leaders to meet the aspirations of the GCC nationals.
The council underscored its absolute rejection of all forms of foreign intervention in the GCC member states’ affairs stating that any attempt to incite sectarianism or sow seeds of sedition would be firmly deterred.
“Any threat to the security of any GCC member state is a threat to all the GCC countries and will be confronted immediately and without hesitation,” the council pledged.
