His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa asserted that the common destiny and kinship ties bonding Bahrain and Kuwait are deeper than words or rhetoric however eloquent they may be, adding that the two countries’ peoples are linked with heart-to-heart feelings and sentiments of love and pride.
“The strong connection between the two countries and their two Ruling Families represents the basic pillar of their relations, and therefore, we will remain, as we have always been, one people within one nation,” HRH Premier said in statement to the Kuwaiti News Agency (KUNA).
HRH Premier appreciated Kuwait’s honourable supportive stances towards Bahrain, noting that the faithful Kuwaiti people have always backed the kingdom and its people.
“The distinctive Bahraini-Kuwaiti relations reflect the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Kuwaiti Amir Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah and the joint keenness of their governments and peoples to constantly advance bilateral historical ties anchored by the forefathers,” HRH Premier added.
HRH Prince Khalifa also paid tribute to the Kuwaiti media and press establishments, taking pride in the pioneering and enlightening role they play across the region and their championing of the just Arab causes.
He also extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to honest journalists who have backed the kingdom during the latest “regretful” incidents that happened recently, expressing satisfaction at the Kuwaiti media’s wide coverage of those events, denunciation of all attempts to distort reality and rejection of any acts aiming to destabilize the Kingdom.
HRH Premier also thanked all the GCC media establishments for their defence of the kingdom’s landmark achievement and those of the GCC region, noting that GCC media’s support testifies to the fraternal ties bonding all GCC peoples.
“The GCC states’ reaction and solidarity with Bahrain during the crisis have proved to us that we are a united entity with a common destiny,” he also said, adding that the deployment of the Peninsula Shield troops in the kingdom has consolidated harmony and cohesion among GCC countries.
In this context, HRH Premier expressed his heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the GCC states for their genuine brotherly backing for Bahrain during the crisis.
In the meantime Kuwait denied undertaking any new mediation in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Kuwaiti Ambassador Shaikh Azzam Mubarak Al-Sabah described security and stability as a top priority, dismissing any other option for the time being.
