Attempts to belittle hard-won achievements and defame national symbols have been slammed.
“Discrediting achievements and the historic roles of national symbols is refused and disapproved”, His Royal Highness the Premier’s Court Media Spokesman said. He praised Bahraini people for their consciousness, loyalty, belonging and allegiance to national symbols and leadership.
“Bahrain people has proved its mettle and refuses any defamation and attempts to drive wedges and sow dissensions”, he said. He paid tribute to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa for his crucial historic role.
“HRH the Premier is a national symbol. His achievements, which speak volumes, started even before Bahrain’s independence”, he said. The spokesman outlined the crucial positions HRH the Premier assumed over decades and his contribution to laying the foundations of a modern state in Bahrain.
“A grateful Bahrain will never forget his crucial role in protecting Bahrain’s integrity, ensuring national independence and staving off all attempts to sully the country’s Islamic identity”, he said. He cited the referendum on self-determination, which confirmed Bahrainis’ firm desire to declare Bahrain an independent Arab state. All grateful parties, he said, acknowledge HRH the Premier’s patriotic role ever since the independence dawned on Bahrain. “Bahrainis recognize the landmark achievements, first under the late Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, then in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa”, he said.
These landmark achievements have earned Bahrain international recognition at the UN and other world organizations.
“Bahrain achievements have been acknowledged worldwide, based on unquestionable internationally-recognized benchmarks and indices”, the spokesman said. “Known as a man of competence, HRH the Premier is endowed with leadership skills of a nation-builder which enabled him to serve his country all these years”, he said.
“HRH the Premier spared no efforts to consolidate national security and stability and stave off threats endangering Bahrain ever since Bahrain was declared as an independent stated in the 1970s. HRH the Premier has faced, over these years, political difficulties and challenges and proved his mettle as a courageous and bold leader, thus protecting Bahrain’s Arab identity and international status.
“The recent years have been particularly laden with landmark achievements and projects aimed at boosting Bahrain’s sustainable development”, the spokesman said. He stressed HRH the Premier’s achievements which defy any defamation, citing awards conferred on him by the UN and other international organisations.
“These international agencies have recognized Bahrain’s landmark achievements ever since HRH the Premier became Prime Minister in 1971”, the spokesman said, lauding his far-reaching vision, energy and ability to muster resources and channelizing them into improving citizens’ living standards, upgrade public life and promote Bahrain’s progress and prosperity. HRH the Premier was last honored with The Millennium Development Goals Recognition Award, in recognition of his crucial as a talented nation-builder.
Regarding the Bahrain Financial Harbour, the spokesman said that the issue had been studied by the ministerial committee in tandem with the parliamentary probe committee in charge of state properties. “The transaction has been sealed via the pricing committee in accordance with legal procedures”, he said.
“Any party questioning the legal procedures may resort to courts for justice be done”, the spokesman added.
