The Ministry of the Interior has given an overview of the current security situation across the Kingdom of Bahrain.
At present, the Ministry considers the security status in Bahrain as stable, with life returning to normal patterns.
Many people returned to work on Monday and traffic flow in all parts of Bahrain was smooth. Regarding the public security presence, officers in all governorates in Bahrain were widely deployed with police officers patrolling all main streets and roads.
The Ministry intends to intensify the 24-hour security measures in all areas and neighbourhoods in order to both protect citizens and residents and prevent any criminal activity.
The Ministry confirmed that all barriers, barricades and barbed wire in the northern governorate have been removed. Protestors interrupted some of the police operations, but all interventions were dealt with and the operations were completed. All unofficial checkpoints established by neighbourhood volunteers across Bahrain are being taken over by security forces.
At Salmaniya Medical Complex, the Ministry confirmed that full medical services have resumed following the security operation to safeguard the hospital, with access now unimpeded to all citizens and residents. With respect to the cases which were reported yesterday, the body of a deceased man, Ali Abdulrasool Alhujairi, was found in Awali area walking track. The Ministry confirmed that a criminal investigation has been launched. The Ministry of the Interior will issue further updates over the coming period regarding the current security situation.
