With the normalcy starts coming back on Manama streets, the Government is trying hard to figure out the perpetrators behind the crimes committed against the humanity allegedly by the doctors, nurses and paramedical staff at the Salmaniya Medical Complex , the country’s one of the largest medical services centres located in the heart of Manama.
This has never happened in the recent history of bloody wars in Iraq and Afghanistan where the victims of blasts and terrorists somehow get treatment without discrimination. But the disturbing videos aired by the Bahrain TV in the past couple of days has exposed the doctors and nurses working in the so called ‘sacred profession’ who not only refused to attend the victims of violence and in many cases ambulance services were refused, bleed the people to death and above all nurses maltreated many victims at the emergency ward.
These ugly incidents at the Government hospital in Bahrain is criminal act by all definitions and is perhaps the only example in recent history of mankind where victims refused the first aid and the medical treatment on the basis of mere nationality.
The target killings, kidnapping, harassment and racial profiling incidents carried out by thugs in the past four weeks in Bahrain are a fit case for criminal prosecution, at all levels, and especially the hospital staff should be held responsible for criminal negligence, murder and crime against humanity.
At this stage, despite all highhandedness Asian communities are with their Bahraini brothers and sisters in the need of the hour but certainly have high hopes of justice as voiced by HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister of Bahrain and the Minister of Interior Shaikh Rashid Al Khalifa.
