Senior officials from the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) attended the 25th congress of GCC Olympic committees held in Abu Dhabi.
Supreme Council for Youth and Sports president and chief of the BOC Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa led the Bahrain delegation to Abu Dhabi.
The UAE is hosting four meetings including the GCC Olympic Committees’ presidents meeting held on Wednesday.
The congress began with the GCC Olympic Committees’ executive committee meeting followed by the GCC Youth and Sports Ministries’ undersecretaries on Tuesday and will conclude with the GCC Youth and Sports Ministries’ presidents meeting on Thursday.
Bahrain’s delegation includes BOC’s chief executive officer Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, BOC’s general secretary Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa besides board members Adel Al Assommi and Ali Isa who will all accompany Shaikh Nasser at the meeting.
Shaikh Ahmed is also due to represent Bahrain at the GCC Olympic Committees’ executive committee meeting.
Attending the GCC Youth and Sports Ministries’ Undersecretaries meeting from the Bahrain side will be General Organisation for Youth and Sports’ President Hisham Al Jowdar.
Supreme Council for Youth and Sports’ general secretary Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa leads the Bahrain delegation at the GCC Youth and Sports Ministers’ meeting.
The GCC Olympic Committees’ officials will look to hold a series of fruitful and constructive meetings with heads and members of the participating delegations.
During these meetings, the officials will explore ways of joint co-operation and furthering Olympic joint action at the GCC, Arab and international levels.
