The Shura Council expressed the pride and appreciation to GCC leaders for allocating a $10 billion aid package for Bahrain, describing the move as a brotherly initiative benefiting not only the Kingdom, but also the whole GCC region.
During its 13th weekly session, chaired by Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh followed by Jamal Mohammed Fakhro, the council asserted that the plan proves that the GCC complementarities march was on the right path.
“The current situation requires the GCC states to act collectively in order to achieve the desired development goals that will reflect positively on the GCC citizens’ standards of living,” the council said, affirming that the GCC nations have, throughout history, embodied the concept of unity and common destiny through showing keenness to protect the common interests of their brotherly peoples.
The Council also voiced support for the national dialogue principles set up by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander.
In this context, Shura MPs requested the Council’s bureau to issue a statement in which they back HRH Crown Prince’s principles and appeal to the government to assume its responsibility of safeguarding security in the Kingdom.
