Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa stressed Bahrain’s concern over the situation in Libya and its full commitment to Libya’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.
He was speaking during the first meeting of Libya Contact Group held in Doha on Wednesday.
“Bahrain is cooperating with the international community to help the Libyan people overcome the current crisis and coordinate efforts to cater to their humanitarian needs and provide support for them in this critical period of their history,” he said.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs took part in the first meeting of the International Contact Group on Libya, held this afternoon in the Qatari capital of Doha.
The participation of the Kingdom of Bahrain in this important international meeting stems from its full commitment to the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Libya and keenness to ensure the security and integrity of the Libyan people in these difficult circumstances they are facing.
The Kingdom of Bahrain supports the efforts to solve the Libyan problem with its political, security and humanitarian dimensions and backs all international efforts that lead to ensuring the humanitarian needs of the Libyan people at all levels to alleviate their suffering and promote security and stability across Libya.
