British Bahrain Business Forum (BBBF) is seeking to focus on increasing the frequency of the events this year including UK Trade and Investment missions and the BBBF’s six special interest groups (SIGs) in 2011 and beyond to provide more networking opportunities for its members.
This was announced by the BBBF Chairman Khalid Al Zayani after the AGM meeting which elected a new board who claimed 2010 as record breaking year with membership rising to 439 members.
BBBF held its AGM at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, which was highlighted by the election of a new Executive Committee. Khalid Zayani, Chairman of BBBF presented annual report which recapped last year’s record-breaking achievements.
Newly elected committee members include Nasser Al Arayedh, Chairman of Al Arayedh Group Holding, Julia Atherton-Dandy, Deputy General Manager of Hill & Knowlton, and Peter Petyt, Partner BDO Consulting.
Amongst the numerous achievements were the rapidly growing membership of the BBBF’s to 439 businessmen and women representing all sectors of business while the BBBF’s networking functions also attracted 1,665 people, an increase of 10% and 18%, respectively.
Al Zayani also stressed the BBBF would continue its efforts to increase Bahraini membership and the diversity of the group in order to build closer ties amongst Bahrain’s business community, and urged all those interested in joining to contact the group directly.
