On the sidelines of her visit to France, Social Development Minister and Acting Health Minister Dr. Fatima Al Blooshi met with the General Director of Doctors without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontires or MSF) Filipe Ribeiro and Operations Director in Brussels Jrme Oberreit and updated them on the latest developments in Bahrain.
Dr. Al Blooshi also highlighted the efforts being exerted by the Bahraini authorities to re-establish the citizens’ trust in the medical cadres and the medical establishments in general, indicating there was a tendency to cooperate with MSF in order to avail of its expertise in this regard.
Dr. Al Blooshi also met with the Secretary General of Reporters Without Borders Jean-Francois Julliard and other officials and discussed with them a number of issues related to Bahrain.
During the meeting, she reiterated the kingdom’s resolve to ensure the freedom of media and press and facilitate the journalists’ work, expressing Bahrain’s keenness to enhance its cooperation with Reporters without Borders for the sake of consolidating the role of press and boosting freedom of press and expression.
Bahrain’s Ambassador to France Dr. Nasser Al Blooshi and other Embassy officials also attended the meetings.
