The eGovernment Authority received the “Security Strategist 2011’s Award’’ for its initiatives towards spreading the awareness on the online risk and fraud, in addition to implementing the best practices and international standards in the Information Security field.
International experts, specialists and decision makers in the field of Information and Communication Technology participated in the conference. During the event, the eGovernment Authority discussed vital subjects related to information security of the organizations and discussed different topics, such as preventing hackers, protecting personal data from being leaked, identity management and the importance of enhancing the application of information security and risk management.
During the preparation phase for the (Security Strategists 2011) conference, Corporate Publishing International (CPI) conducted a survey with over 185 IT decision makers from different countries in the region that revealed 53% of the respondents confirmed that the main challenge was building a security strategy that connects people, process and technology. Whereas, 47% consider that measuring ROI on security investments was their main challenge.
The survey also looked at IT spending and found that 88% clearly revealed that they have a roadmap for investing this year, while 12% have cut back on spending. The survey also portrayed that 59% of them spends would be directed towards Business Continuity, while 41% would go towards Managed Security Services.
The (Security Strategist 2011) conference is vital platforms for institutions to take a deeper look at the importance of applying information security in a strategic technique and to provide mechanisms, tools and methods during these difficult times. It is also essential to understand ways to assist private and public organizations in acquiring the same application according to its requirements.
