The Economic Development Board (EDB) will remain committed to support the business environment and companies operating in Bahrain, as well as working closely with other public sector organisations to support them in executing projects and initiatives as per the National Economic Strategy 2011-2014.
This was announced by Shaikh Mohammed Bin Essa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive of the EBD in response to the recent developments in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Shaikh Mohammed said the EDB was working on preparing a report which would identify the sectors that have been affected by these developments, as well as the best proposed measures to face these challenges.
“The report will take into consideration the new Government budget, the strategies Bahrain will follow to maximise the benefits from the allocated fund of $10 billion by the Gulf countries over the next 10 years as part of the Gulf Development Program, as well as the possible new investment projects in Bahrain during the current year.,” he said
“Over the past weeks, the EDB has been in constant contact with the foreign and local companies operating in Bahrain, and as a result it has been noted that the companies confirmed their commitment to maintain their presence in Bahrain. The EDB showed its commitment by supporting these companies, which goes hand in hand with the initiative to help local companies in parallel to the program that will be launched by the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) to support the Bahraini small and medium enterprises.”
“EDB’s support to global firms and investors looking towards operating from Bahrain include providing them with information, facilitating their registration and establishment, offering them logistical support, constant after-establishment support, as well as creating attractive employment opportunities for Bahrainis,” he added.
