The places of worship in the Kingdom of Bahrain enjoyed special attention by the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to maintain its significant role in the society.
This was stated by Sheikh Fadhel Fateel in a statement posted by the BNA on its website on Sunday.
“The leadership in the Kingdom of Bahrain is also keen in constructing Mosques to embrace worshipers which are not available in many other countries,” Sheikh said.
He asserted that they live religious freedom in practicing their rituals and such freedom is not available whether in Islamic or non Islamic countries or even in Iran.
He stressed that the freedom that they live in Bahrain like the revival of rituals and mourning Hussein, and all Imams as well as get out in processions and funerals are freely practiced in the Kingdom.
Religious figure Fadhel Fateel said in an interview with Bahrain Television that no Mosque or Ma’atam were demolished in Bahrain , affirming that what have been demolished are , in fact, unlicensed buildings regardless of any doctrine.
Fateel added that houses of worship need to be set up on allotted plots of land without encroaching on public or private properties. They also have to be equipped with needed services like electricity, water and a car park in order to continue to play their religious role.
He asserted that in the Kingdom, everybody enjoys freedom of religious and ideological freedom, denouncing what have been reported by some tweets that attempt to describe the situation otherwise in order to undermine the nation’s image and instigate sedition among the one Bahraini people who belong to the same homeland and who have the same religion.
Fateel also ruled out reports on twitter saying that he faces threats to make such clarification, asserting that he is free in addressing speeches in Mosques.
