The GCC has refused the content of the letter addressed by the Iranian Foreign Minister to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
“The threatening tone of the letter reflects the continuous Iranian intent to interfere blatantly in the internal affairs of Bahrain and other GCC countries.
Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa attended the GCC ministerial council’s extraordinary meeting in Riyadh which issued a communiqué’ slamming Iranian meddlesome policies.
The statement also rapped Iran for continuously spreading allegations and incessant lies to foment unrest and subvert regional instability.
The GCC called upon the international community, particularly the UN Security Council to take necessary measures to stop blatant Iranian interference, provocations and threats in a bid to fuel up munities and seditions and incite acts of sabotage in the GCC member states.
The GCC also stressed that it would not hesitate to adopt all policies and measures to protect their sovereignty and stability, calling upon Iran to stop its incitement, recruitment of spies and dormant cells to engage in subversive acts against the GCC countries, and distract attention away from its own internal problems. The GCC deplored the repeated attacks on the Saudi diplomatic premises in Iran, in fragrant violations of international diplomatic laws and norms as stipulated in international pacts and covenants.
Shaikh Khalid earlier arrived in Saudi Arabia and was welcomed by his counterpart Prince and GCC Secretary General Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani
