His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman has issued instructions to give top priority to mega government development projects aimed to directly serve the citizens, especially in the housing field, requesting the Housing Ministry to begin implementing His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s directives to establish urban cities in the Kingdom’s different regions, starting with the Northern one.
This came as HRH Premier chaired, at the Gudaibiya Palace, the regular Cabinet weekly meeting.
During the session, the Cabinet requested the Finance Ministry to come with effective plans to carry out new development projects in order to boost the national economy and create investment opportunities so as to meet the citizens’ expectations.
HRH Premier was briefed on the work process on the already approved governmental development projects, instructing all ministers and government departments to follow up closely the execution of those projects, especially the service ones, so as to ensure that they are finalized in due time.
The Cabinet discussed the most suitable options for enhancing the commercial and economic activities in the Kingdom and tasked the Ministries of Finance and Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning to prepare a report on the expenses of each proposal.
Regarding the latest regional and global developments, the Cabinet lauded the honourable stances voiced by Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdulla bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in support of the kingdom against the attempts to meddle in its domestic affairs and destabilize its security and stability in particular and those of the region in general.
It also took pride in Saudi Arabia’s backing and considered it a living proof of the strong bilateral ties and common destiny bonding the two brotherly countries and the GCC states in general, asserting that Bahrain is an integral part of the GCC framework, adding that the deployment of Peninsula Shield troops in the Kingdom for the sake of maintaining its security and stability embodies the unity among GCC nations.
The Cabinet expressed its full-fledged solidarity with brotherly Kuwait and backed all the measures it has taken to safeguard its security and stability following the uncovering of an espionage network aiming to target its domestic peace and harmony, reiterating the Kingdom’s rejection and strong condemnation of any kind of interference in Kuwait’s internal affairs.
The Cabinet wished Kuwait further progress and prosperity under the wise leadership of Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah.
The Cabinet was also briefed on the work done so far by the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs tasked by HRH Premier to study the irregularities registered by the National Financial and Administrative Audit Court.
The Cabinet also approved the recommendations submitted by the Ministerial Committee on Legal Affairs concerning the kingdom’s accession to the Arab Tourist Guide Union.
It also discussed a draft law on amending some articles of Law 22 for 2006 on the Protection of Copyright and Neighboring Rights and referred it to the Legislation and Legal Affairs Commission.
The Cabinet also discussed amending some articles of Decree 25 for 1996 on the establishment of World Trade Organisation (WTO) National Committee and decided to refer the memo submitted by the Industry and Commerce Ministry in this regard to the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs for further study.
The Cabinet approved the establishment of a Holy Koran Directorate at the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry.
