His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa attended the junior and senior 120-kilometre Endurance Horseride Championship of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander.
Upon arrival at the Bahrain International Endurance Village in Sakhir, accompanied by his Personal Representative Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM King Hamad was welcomed by the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) Chairman and the Bahrain Olympic Committee President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, SCYS’ Vice-Chairman and President of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Chairman of the Endurance Committee Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Nasser and Shaikh Khalid briefed HM King Hamad on the phases of the race as well as the participants.
After that, HM King Hamad met riders, exchanged cordial talks with them and wished them every success.
HM the King was also greeted by Durrat Al Bahrain Board Chairman Abdulhakeem Al Khayyat and CEO Jassim Al Jowder.
HM King Hamad lauded the tremendous efforts exerted by BREEF to organise endurance races, praising the Bahraini riders’ landmark achievements.
HM King Hamad also commended the plans and programmes of the SCYS, under the chairmanship of Shaikh Nasser, aiming to upgrade the youth and sport movement in the Kingdom.
