His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, the UK Defence Secretary Dr Liam Fox and his accompanying delegation, currently visiting the Kingdom.
HM King Hamad welcomed the UK minister and discussed with him the latest developments in the region and ways of safeguarding its peace and stability.
HM the King also reviewed with the British official the solid historical relations bonding the two friendly Kingdoms, asserting his keenness to further bolster them in all fields, especially in the military and defence ones.
HM King Hamad also praised Britain’s supportive stances towards the kingdom during the crisis that it has undergone, which HM asserted, reflect the cordial Bahrain-UK ties.
Regional and Arab issues were also discussed during the meeting.
The UK Defence Secretary expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to HM King Hamad and lauded Bahrain’s progress, development and pioneering regional role.
He also hailed the outstanding bilateral relations, expressing keen desire to enhance defence cooperation and coordination.
