Bahrainis have been urged to consolidate national unity and work hand in hand for Bahrain’s bright future. “Bahrain had experienced many crises and re-emerged stronger and prouder than ever”, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa said.
He was speaking as he received at Al-Safriya Palace Bahrain Bar Society chairperson Jamila Ali Salman along with lawyers and legal experts.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, attended. HM King Hamad described the recent crisis, which the country had gone through, as a “mere cloud which dissipated”, voicing his optimism as to Bahrain’s present and future.
He paid tribute to all Bahrainis for their solidarity and unity, hailing the role of Bahrain Bar Society in promoting the lawyers’ profession, being a crucial cornerstone of the judiciary to anchor the rule of the law and state institutions.
“Lawyers have a key role to play in protecting the rights of citizens and residents on this land and defend their interests”, he said, expressing Bahrain’s pride in these elite of men and women who are assuming their patriotic duties towards the nation and citizens.
He took pride in the landmark development and democratic strides achieved to date, particularly the National Action Charter, which had been approved by a sweeping majority.
He also cited the constitution, the Constitution Court, the parliament, the free and fair elections, the press freedom, the National Financial and Administrative Court, the independent judiciary, the rule of the law and the state institutions.
HM King Hamad hailed the lawyers’ efforts to serve the nation, promote right, stressing the need to stand united and stave off any defamation to Bahrain.
