His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has issued decree No. 27 for the year 2011 on re-forming the Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA).
His Majesty appointed the minister of labor as LMRA chairman with the membership of Sabah Al Salem Al Dosari, Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Amer, Shaikh Ahmed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Dr. Khalid Mohammed Taqi, Sager Shaheen Sager, Nabil Khalid Kanoo, Abdulla Mohammed Hussein and Ibrahim Hamad Abdullah. The term of board membership is four years.
In the meanwhile the Labour Market Regulatory Authority in a statement said that it had started implementing the process of suspending the Labour Fees on BD 10 on every worker for six months with effect from 1st April 2011, based on the directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Economic Development Board Chairman.
LMRA has clarified in the statement that the collected “Monthly Fees” of April, during the first days of this month and before the directives, will be returned as credit note in the employers’ accounts at LMRA.
