His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, has decided not to attend the wedding ceremony of Prince William, son of Prince Charles of Wales, set to be celebrated on April 29 in London.
HRH Prince Salman has sent a letter to Prince Charles apologizing for not being able to attend the ceremony and share his joy on his son’s wedding day, out of his keenness to remain with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, as Bahrain goes through the current conditions, and be at his disposal to answer all Royal orders.
He outlined the situation currently prevailing in Bahrain, pointing out efforts to overcome the crisis which is confronting Bahrain, for the march of reform, development and progress to continue.
He paid tribute to HM King Hamad and all Bahrain people’s cooperation. “I was hoping the Kingdom of Bahrain would have a high-profile representation at this glamorous event, thus reflecting the friendship bonding our countries. However, the current situation in Bahrain prevents me from attending”, he said.
HRH Prince Salman lauded the strong historic relations bonding the Kingdom of Bahrain and the UK, affirming the need to continue bolstering ties. He also extended sincere and heartfelt congratulations to Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles of Wales, the UK Government, the British people, as well as the bride and groom, wishing happiness
