Causes of the political hurly-burly witnessed by Iran recently in connection with the resignation of its Intelligence Minister Haidar Moslehi have been revealed by high profile GCC sources to Kuwaiti Al Qabas newspaper, according to BNA.
The newspaper quoted the sources as saying that Moslehi was forced to resign after being accused by the Iranian leadership of failure to execute the mission entrusted with him regarding Bahrain and Kuwait as well as his failure to forecast protests in Syria.
The Iranian Intelligence Minister was reportedly blamed by the leadership for failure to topple the political system in Bahrain and to maintain a secret spying network in Kuwait, the sources said.
The main reason behind Moslehi’s resignation is the uncovering of the Iranian real role in the region which contradicts all statements the Iranian government tried to disseminate in the past, it was revealed.
Other sanctions will also follow against leading figures at the Iranian Intelligence, the sources pointed out adding that unveiling the Iranian policy is a destruction of all attempts to lay bridges of communication with neighbourly countries in the region. Tehran has to start setting up new peaceful relations from scratch, the sources stressed.
