An Iranian proposal urging intervention in certain cases to protect people has been defeated.
Bahrain ‘s legislative delegation to the 124th session of the Inter-parliamentary Union in Panama succeeded in mobilizing international support for the Iranian proposal to be aborted.
The Iranian setback came during a discussion session under the theme: “Recent Political Unrest in the World: Lessons for the Sake of Democracy”. Led by Shura Council first deputy president Jamal Mohammed Fakhro, the delegation rejected the Iranian blatant proposed, stressing the illegality of any flagrant interference in other countries’ internal affairs. It also urged the Iranian Government to cease its blatant interference in Bahrain’s internal affairs.
Fakhro attended the session along with other members Dr. Aisha Salem Mubarak and Dr. Salah Ali.
