The Grievances and Human Rights Directorate at the Ministry of Interior received 1,225 calls on its hotline 80008008 from March 22 to April 27.
General Inspector Major-General Ibrahim Habib Ghaith said on Wednesday that the calls were made by citizens and residents and steps had been taken to refer the cases to the bodies concerned.
He called upon the public not to hesitate in filing complaints or asking for security services, as the Ministry maintained the confidentiality of the cases and the legal procedures involved.
The General Inspector thanked citizens and residents for their cooperation and for promoting community partnership in spreading a sense of security and stability in society.
