Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa said that protecting the national data would remain a top priority of the Government.
“Personal data represent a trust which must be protected and secured, being an integral part of national security”, he said.
He made these comments as he visited the Central Informatics Organisation, which has been recently put under control of the ministry.
He was updated on and CIO work procedures and the standard of services which are provided for citizens and residents.
CIO President Dr. Mohammed Al-Amer gave an update on the vocation goals and duties of the facility as well as planned future schemes.
He also spotlighted the CIO crucial role in buttressing government departments towards optimizing the use of the information technology and enhancing competencies and work efficacy in all sectors.
