The Youth Committee at the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) launches today at the Seef Mall, the “I Am Bahrain” Campaign.
At the inauguration ceremony, the Police Band will play the national anthem and a number of national songs.
The SCW will cooperate with the Social Development Ministry to devote a special section for children who will decorate their faces, put henna, put their fingerprints on the Bahraini flag and get souvenir gifts.
Other cultural and national competitions will be organised on the sidelines of the two-day function. The ceremony will be attended by key national figures.
In this context, the SCW called upon all citizens to take part in this campaign aiming to promote national belonging and unity and restore the principles of national cohesion to Bahraini society, including peaceful co-existence, tolerance, solidarity, respect of others’ opinions and adherence to freedom of expression within the constitutional framework.
It is to be noted that this youth initiative was taken by the SCW’s Secretariat General in line with the directives of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and the SCW Chairperson, who, during a meeting last February, highlighted the importance of the role played by Bahraini youths in consolidating the principles of true citizenship, fraternity and solidarity as outlined by Islam.
