Minister Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa has won the Media Creativity Award for this year. The Arab Media Gathering honoured her in recognition of crucial role in highlighting cultural issues in the Arab World. It also acknowledges efforts to support and set up a string of cultural projects, in addition to her crucial role in promoting culture and developing the media.
Shaikha Mai has been presented with the award on the sidelines of the 8th Arab Media Gathering, which kicked off on Sunday and will run until April 26, under the auspices of Kuwaiti Prime Minister Shaikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah. AMG secretary-general Madhi Abdulla Al-Khamis credited Shaikha Mai for turning the media in Bahrain into a window to promote cultural awareness.
Shaikha Mai paid tribute to the Arab Media Gathering for its keen interest to promote cultural and media issues in the Arab world, stressing strong historic relations bonding Bahrain and Kuwait. Shaikha Mai also addressed a forum under the theme “Investment in Culture, Media and Information, outlining her experience in launching the “Invest in Culture”, in Bahrain.
