First Bahrain, an innovative real estate developer, has signed a new tenancy agreement for its Majaal Warehousing Company with Switz Group.
The company said that signing of agreements with the foreign companies would continue to attract inward foreign investments to Bahrain.
Switz Group, one of the Middle East’s largest manufacturers and distributors of bakery products, has chosen Majaal warehousing and logistics complex as an ideal location to serve the expansion of their subsidiary brand, to be known as Bahrain Masterbaker WLL.
The new business will commence operations shortly, and will import products such as the ever-popular cup cakes, pastries and samosa leaves from their Saudi Masterbaker operation in Saudi Arabia.
From their base in Majaal, they will distribute to retail outlets such as hypermarkets and groceries in Bahrain. A second subsidiary to be known as Masterbaker Trading WLL is also being setup within the same facility to import premium bakery ingredients from Europe and USA. These ingredients which are preferred by chefs will be supplied to hotels, caterers and restaurants.
Occupying 2,700 square feet of secure industrial workspaces at Majaal, the new company will ensure that Bahrain residents can enjoy these delicious treats every day.
“Despite the recent unrest in Bahrain, First Bahrain is still attracting foreign investment to the Kingdom. I believe this is a testament to our successful demand-driven investment philosophy and our sustainable strategy and a positive sign of recovery in the Kingdom,” Amin Al Arrayed, General Manager of First Bahrain and Managing Director of Majaal Warehouse Company said.
“It’s great to have ready-to-run facilities available for the Switz Group to launch its bakery distribution centre in Bahrain, and they have appreciated the safe and secure location Majaal occupies which makes it ideal for operations, particularly under the current conditions. We are looking forward to a very successful partnership.”
“Bahrain is a prime market for Switz Group, being so close to our manufacturing facilities in Saudi Arabia, and having the right demographic for our target consumer. Over the past six months, our feasibility studies have shown that it has great potential and we look forward to bringing the Bahrain people a new and exciting experience in bakery products,” Adel Khorakiwala, CEO of Switz Group added.
Majaal, First Bahrain’s inaugural project, is located within the Salman Industrial City at the Bahrain Investment Wharf, providing easy access to Khalifa bin Salman Port and other major transport links in Bahrain.
Majaal presently offers 130,000 square feet of secure, flexible and cost effective storage space which has been designed especially to facilitate the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) segment of the Kingdom’s industrial sector. Space is available for lease from as little as 2,700 square feet to multiples of 10,700 square feet, and expansion plans are in the pipeline.
