The Ministry of Works has terminated the scholarships of two students enrolled at overseas universities for engaging into political activities abroad against Bahrain.
“The two students have violated the terms governing scholarships which are granted to employees”, it announced.
The ministry also vowed to take action against employees who flouted the Civil Service Bureau (CSB) rules and regulations. Minister of Works, Essam Khalaf met senior officials to discuss the ongoing work of the internal probe committee in charge of investigating the cases of absentee employees.
The meeting was attended by the undersecretary, assistant undersecretaries, the directors and probe committee members. In a statement issued following the meeting, the ministry said that it had taken the initiative, right from the first day of the unrest, to supply the CSB, with exhaustive reports featuring the rates of attendance, in addition to details on each absentee employee’s pretext.
