Head of National Unity Gathering in Bahrain Sheikh Abdullatif Al Mahmoud affirmed that what happened in Bahrain was merely an issue of sectarianism and conspiracy and has nothing to do with demands of reform, the statement published by the BNA said.
This happened with the involvement of multiple parties led by Iran, Hizbulla Lebanese party and Iraqi.
Sheikh Al Mahmoud told a Press conference in Cairo that the conspiracy was aimed to build a Shiit state in Bahrain and copy what happened in Iraq by Shi’ites which lead to the killing of thousands of Iraqi innocent people both Shi’ite and Sunnis exactly like what is happening now of sectarian strife in Egypt.
Sheikh Mahmoud congratulated Egyptians on their great revolution, wishing them success and that Egypt will regain its leading role in the region.
He asserted that both religious figures in Al Azhar and the Coptic Church must work hard with the political leadership to end this sectarian strife.
Talking about the fact of US–Iranian cooperation, head of GONU said Iran has expansionary intentions in the Islamic region which was revealed following a number of military and political movements like their cooperation with the United States of America and other Western countries to occupy Afghanistan and Iraq, which was already declared by former advisor to the Iranian President Mohammed Abtahi.
