President of Information Affairs Authority (IAA) Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa affirmed that GCC Consultative Summit due to be held in Riyadh will add another accomplishment to the GCC progress and improve the work mechanism to achieve the aspiration of GCC people mainly with the need of establishing GCC confederation.
Shaikh Fawaz added that the Summit was a perfect opportunity to discuss developments in the region and to work harder for further GCC accomplishments , asserting that the summit is being held in a critical situation including the political, economic and development spheres.
In an interview with Saudi daily ‘’ Al Jazeera’’, Shaikh Fawaz added, Bahrain is stable and back to normal including the commercial, social and tourism fields and which was assured by Royal Decree No. 39 for the year 2011 by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to end the State of National Safety effective from 1st of June 2011.
‘’ The recent unrest witnessed in the Kingdom was caused by a group of people who received foreign support. We were shocked by these people who were working among us and turned against their country calling to destroy the national stability, but thank God everything is under control now after arresting leaders of the terrorist organization and who were referred to the court according to law and regulations in the Kingdom,’’ Shaikh Fawaz said.
“We believe in our people , leadership and establishments as well as the support from the GCC countries. Bahrain is a constitutional transparent Kingdom and work in harmony with all its departments in constant and upgrading mechanism, as example for its transparency Al Wefaq society took part in the last parliamentary elections and won, so we don’t have any intention to decrease the opposition’s representation and the constitution guaranteed to all.”
