President of the Information Affairs Authority (IAA) Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa was informed about the experience of the Press Complaints Commission (PCC), which is an independent self-regulatory body and deals with complaints about the editorial content of newspapers and magazines and their websites.
During his visit to PCC premises, Shaikh Fawaz met with PCC Public Affairs Director William Gore who briefed him on the commission’s history, goals, achievements, work mechanisms and ways of dealing with baseless fabricated stories.
IAA President lauded the pivotal role played by PCC in serving people and protecting their rights, reiterating IAA’s keenness to take advantage of all successful experiences in order to enhance the media sector in the Kingdom, ensure the freedom of expression and opinion for all and protect people’s rights.
