The recent unrest and its transient impact on the economy of the Kingdom of Bahrain was a test for Bahrain’s resilience to such impacts and the patriotic spirit of the citizens and the residents of the Kingdom.
In a statement the BCCI said that due to the timely measures taken by the leadership and the support of neighboring GCC Countries to ensure security and stability in the country, the economy is back on track.
“The Kingdom is determined to move forward with its various initiatives which will no doubt reinvigorate the economy and the welfare of its citizens and residents. The Royal Decree to end the State of National Safety from 1 June is the clear signal to the world that the Kingdom has regained its security and normalcy,” it said.
“Bahrain is a country that is home to diverse nationalities and therefore it is critical that the true image of the country is made noticeable to their home countries to restore their links with the Kingdom. The positive developments in all spectrums of activities in the Kingdom loudly declare that it is time that any travel ban to Bahrain should be lifted to facilitate the flow of people and commodities,” the BCCI added.
The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry calls on all Embassies in the Kingdom of Bahrain and overseas Bahrain embassies not to spare any effort in portraying the true image and spirit of the Kingdom. “BCCI respectfully stresses the role of the Foreign Ministry in urging Bahrain embassies abroad to take the vital steps to enhance the status of the safety and stability in the country,” it added.
“Due to Bahrain’s high profile in the global map, consolidated global efforts are needed to provide reassurance to business partners to strengthen their relationships and combine efforts to revive the economy.
“Outgoing trade delegation to countries which are major trading and business partners of Bahrain, publishing of economic reports supported by facts and figures, trust-building trade events such seminars and conferences, highlighting the “Business Friendly Bahrain”, and endorsing its strong business ethics and services are of critical importance at this stage. As the engine of economic growth of the country, Bahrain’s private sector is rightly placed to communicate with their counterparts across the globe to timely capitalize on potential opportunities for boosting trade volume, strengthening business networks, exchanging ideas and technology transfer and the like to be contributors in the revived economy especially at this time when the country is keen to keep all the projects in ongoing,” it said.
