The Civil Service Council held it second meeting chaired by the Deputy Premier Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa with the attendance of the council members that included the minister of finance, the minister of education, minister of power, minister of social development and acting minister of health, minister of labour, minister of energy, minister of cabinet affairs and president of the civil service bureau.
Shaikh Khalid said that the council reviewed several important topics that are aimed towards reinforcing administrative audit and elevation of both performance and productivity.
This, he added, would in turn reflect positively on the development of the service and speed up the process of providing clients with the service.
Shaikh Khalid indicated that such a process would also help in protecting public finance and prevent financial and administrative violations that are in harmony with the directives of the wise leadership.
The Deputy Premier highlighted that the discussions also focused on the memo submitted by the civil service bureau related to the compensation for those retired government employees during their reappointment.
With regard to this topic the committee agreed that regulations would be put in place in reappointment in high level positions and that related to wages and benefits in accordance to the law and by-laws.
Shaikh Khalid said that the committee also reviewed the reports related to the overtime used by government bodies and affirmed that these bodies should abide with the regulations issued with this regard.
The committee discussed during the meeting the memo submitted by the ministry of finance related to the unification of wages and benefits of all government associated bodies. In addition to that the committee approved the recommendations submitted by the ministry of finance and civil service bureau related to the bonuses for board members of financial and non-financial responsibility establishments.
Shaikh Khalid emphasized that all recommendations and decisions would be undertaken to achieve the aspired objectives towards further elevating civil service within the framework of the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander.
