The measures taken by the Kingdom in order to safeguard its security and stability were backed by the GCC Labour Ministers who reiterated their full support for Bahrain following the regretful crisis that it went through recently.
They also credited the Kingdom’s wise leadership for their handling the crisis soundly and bringing life back to normal.
The stance was voiced during the concluding session of the GCC Labour Ministers’ Coordinative Meeting held, in the presence of the Labour Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Humaidan, on the sidelines of the Arab Labour Conference hosted by Cairo from May 15 to 22.
“GCC countries stand united against any illegal foreign threats faced by any member GCC member state,” GCC Labour Ministers said during the meeting, expressing their full-fledged support for the steps taken by the kingdom to protect its security and maintain law and order across the nation.
They also denounced any attempts made by foreign sides and labour organisations to distort reality and invent fake and false reports on the labour and trade unions’ conditions in the kingdom, expressing full confidence that the Kingdom is capable of overcoming the recent crisis and achieving the highest economic and social growth rates so as to remain an example to followed in the Arab region.
GCC Labour Ministers also commended His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa’s decision to set up a supreme committee to look into dismissals of workers, and the various initiatives taken by the wise leadership to heal wounds and re-assert national unity and social cohesion, hailing the government’s constant resolve to be committed to protecting national achievements and labour rights.
Labour Minister Jameel Mohammed Humaidan, who headed the kingdom’s delegation to the meeting, updated his GCC counterparts on the real situation in the kingdom and highlighted the crucial and pivotal role played by the wise leadership to help the country overcome the critical crisis with the least losses.
He also reiterated the Kingdom’s adherence to labour laws and keenness to provide those dismissed with legal guarantees.
The GCC Labour Ministers Council includes Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Yemen.
